WHAT ALL DO WE NEED TO BRING FOR OUR DOG WHEN WE DROP HIM/HER OFF?
Flee/Tick & Heartworm prevention and any medication your dog is required to take. That is all! We have leashes, collars, toys and bones. Anything else you chose to pack for your pup will likely be unused and kept safely in a storage locker to ensure it doesn't get lost, damaged or in the way.
DO I NEED TO BRING FOOD FOR MY DOG?
We feed a very high quality kibble which we use a food reward during the teaching phases of training. There is no need to bring your own food unless your dog has specific diet requirements and/or food allergies.
IS A REMOTE COLLAR THE SAME AS A SHOCK COLLAR?
Either terms, in our case, refer to a user-operated collar system used to administer a tingle sensation to a pup for the purpose of creating a behavior or deterring a behavior. The levels of these collar systems can send messages that are so subtle with the cleanest static for shaping behaviors while the higher stimulations can be issued at level the dog himself determines as impactful enough to deter his behavior. The sensations and the levels at which each dog is exposed to are introduced in a progressive manner such that it becomes a method of communication rather than purely a correction device.
DOES THE PROGRAM HAVE TO TAKE 5 WEEKS? OTHER TRAINERS PROGRAMS ARE 3 or 4 WEEKS.
Every day of the 5 weeks is utilized to not only teach behaviors, but to unlearn old ones, practice in progressively challenging conditions, practice performing for various handlers, proof behaviors in public environments, ensure that the trained behaviors are second nature to the dog and that the dogs will perform enthusiastically even without food reward.
